"Volume III" is the kind of album that improves with patience. At first, it might seem impenetrable and intentionally dense, but upon closer examination, Mr. Hidayat’s skewed talents start to become apparent. This is extreme experimental noisy expression that also succeeds as an involved listening experience. Pandu is like a mad scientist who doesn’t allow his creations to venture too far beyond his control, and his strength lies in the fact that his "alchemy" does not fit easily into any single style, taking bits and pieces and molding them into something very personal, poetic, visionary, fascinating and unique.
