"Volume III" is the kind of album that improves with patience. At first, it might seem impenetrable and intentionally dense, but upon closer examination, Mr. Hidayat’s skewed talents start to become apparent. This is extreme experimental noisy expression that also succeeds as an involved listening experience. Pandu is like a mad scientist who doesn’t allow his creations to venture too far beyond his control, and his strength lies in the fact that his "alchemy" does not fit easily into any single style, taking bits and pieces and molding them into something very personal, poetic, visionary, fascinating and unique.

Abstract

Jogja Noise Bombing: Komunitas Experimental-Noise di Jogjakarta, merupakan karya tulis ilmiah yang membahas tentang bagaimana satu-satunya komunitas noise di kota Jogjakarta memaknai musik sehingga terjadi aksi-aksi yang dianggap mengganggu bagi sebagian masyarakat kota Jogja. Musik yang umumnya dikenal indah karena terdapat keteraturan nada-nada, irama, dan harmoni justru membuat komunitas ini jenuh akan hal tersebut karena keteraturan dari unsur-unsur tersebut justru membelenggu mereka dalam berkarya, sehingga mereka memutuskan untuk keluar jalur agar dapat lebih bebas berekspresi dalam membuat karya yakni lewat musiknya yang ber-genre experimental-noise. Berawal dari sekedar wacana untuk membuat sebuah acara spontan noise bombing yang akhirnya dapat terealisasikan pada awal tahun 2012, nama komunitas Jogja Noise Bombing semakin dikenal oleh forum-forum kesenian Jogjakarta hingga akhirnya mereka saling bekerja sama dalam membuat eventevent musik yang kemudian membuat nama komunitas ini semakin berkembang dan eksis hingga ke luar kota bahkan luar negeri. Tidak hanya keluar dari patron-patron dalam musik konvensional, komunitas ini menggunakan noise sebagai ide pokok dalam pembuatan komposisinya. Noise yang umumnya dikenal sebagai suara bising yang mengganggu diolah menjadi musik dengan sumber-sumber suara yang musikal maupun non-musikal. Bebunyian absurd yang ditimbulkan dapat dimengerti dengan hadirnya tanda literal berupa judul sehingga maksud beserta maknanya dapat dipahami oleh para penonton yang mendengarkan karya-karya dari masingmasing grup dalam komunitas Jogja Noise Bombing.
